JCalendar 2008 FAQs
Question: Can we customize JCalendar to capture appearance detail information required to integrate with our Case Management System?
Answer: JCalendar contains a rich set of data elements to accommodate most case management system’s data elements. If you find that there are data elements, that are required to be captured, Softworks can modify the system to collect those. Alternatively, JCalendar also houses a product called SmartForms, which allows you to create and publish any Microsoft InfoPath Form as part of the data collection process in JCalendar.
Question: What reporting capabilities are there? Can we create custom reports?
Question: Is there an easy to user interface to review appearances set for a period of time and assign a Judge?
Question: Are scheduling conflicts flagged? Can an appearance conflict be overridden and set anyways?
Answer: Yes. All conflicts are flagged and yes, a user can override a conflict, based on their user role. If a user is of an Administrator level, for the resource, with which they are scheduling, they can override all aspects of that scheduling process. If a user is a Contributor, of that resource, they have less override capabilities and may only modify and remove items added solely by them. There are many variations of the “Role” setup and it is defined in the setup of a specific user’s account.
Question: What is the software Cost per User? Does this include upgrades? Can we purchase a license rather than pay monthly subscription fees?
Answer: The JCalendar Enterprise System is a perpetual license per Scheduling Resource (usually a Judge). Each license is based on the functionality needed for that Resource. All support users (i.e. Secretaries, Legal Assistants, Case Managers) are free of charge, for function of supporting that Licensed Resource.
Question: Are there additional costs for Legacy Case Management integration? If so, what?
Answer: Most integration charges are minimal. Softworks has built a robust importing and parsing library in its Data Connectors, so chances are, we already have the capability to integrate into the legacy system.
Question: What platform does it operate on?
